Custom 2Gen Crew Cab! How to do it?

I'll get one posted soon. The truck isn't attractive now at all. It has been dropped off and I made a deal to make it new inside and out. I'm supposed to have it back in a month. I also bought a 97 4x4 yesterday just to use as a donor truck for the 4x4 swap. It hurts me to chop up a nice driving 97 just to build another truck, but I'm going all in on this one I guess. The guy is driving the 97 to me today or tomorrow. It was an extended cab 4x4 with an nv4500 as well..

I would like some opinions. I enjoy building trucks, but I always end up selling them to do something else.

Do you all think a long bed or short bed would be worth more? I'm considering shortening it so it kinda fits in parking spots.

How much lift should I use? I bought 37's already, but I've considered everything from stock size 20's that come on the new fords (34'') all the way to 43'' military tires on custom suspension.

Since it's all coming apart for paint, what color? I told them a dark charcoal metallic.

Stock bumpers or fabbed steel bumpers?

This truck should end up pretty sweet.

Well, the ugly before picture....

I now have the 97 4x4 ext cab donor truck. We popped the hood and the motor looked new. He said he forgot to mention it had a new remanufactured engine installed 27,000 miles ago. haha It runs and drives great. I really hate the thought of chopping this one up... I keep having ideas and buying trucks but I don't have a single one ready for anything except my daily driver. I'm strongly considering selling my cr dually and keeping an old 12 valve.

i got a crew cab. i did have it on cl a while ago but decided to keep it.

That truck turned out great! That one is by far the best looking crewcab conversion in this thread.

holy chit...

Here is some pictures of Your mentioned truck, super clean :rockwoot::

Reading through this thread and found pictures of my truck. This is the truck in my avatar, looks a little different right now and has been down for roughly 1.5 years. I knew it was mine after seeing the turbo set up: S366 with a machined Holset T3 exhaust housing with a pipe flange welded on it for the homemade hotpipe down to an HT3B. Kind of a cobbled together setup, drive pressure had to have been through the roof, but it performed pretty well. Just thought I'd post that up, truck's been around apparently as I know the last 2 owners, but didn't know it was sold on Ebay.

It's getting a frame off "freshening up" once my 95 gets the same treatement. Not sure if I should keep the maroon color or go black, charcoal, or some form of that.

Well, my truck has been sitting a while waiting on paint, body, and the 4x4 conversion. The previous person that was doing the conversion decided he would rather not take on the job. I am lining out the details with another member here to get it done. While its there, it's getting lifted and a little pep added.
The truck currently has an nv4500. I also have a fresh 47rh that can go in it. I can do a billet input and a clutch/converter. Which would y'all recommend? I have to stay in budget, so a full built is out of the question. Also, I've got to decide on how I want it to set. Spring spacer and 275/65/20's, 37's, 12r20 military tires?. I bought a set of 37 13.50 24 nitto mt's for it, but after seeing another truck I'm having my doubts. I don't want a donk truck. Maybe with the right wheel they could look good.
I sold my CR, so I'm hoping this will transform a lot in the next month. If you have any opinions to share, feel free. I want it to stand out in a good way. My gut is telling me a set of stock gray/black 2014 dodge 20's with 275 65 20's sitting over them with a 6" lift. Hmmm

Few more pictures from internet

Thanks

Actually it is not real update, just next step correct direction.

I cut the frame cab section + some inches under bed from 97 Ram 2500 extended cab ,long bed.

My idea is to use the frame as assembly jig , I have to add transport wheels
