First trip to the track

Try the Edge on setting #2 and then on #5 and see if there's a difference. #2 is all the more power it will make with the wire not tapped. Maybe the wire tap didn't pierce the wire properly? There should be a huge difference between those setting. Mine smokes like a train on 5X5 with stock injectors. No smoke seems like it's not fueling.

No. You're smarter than the other guys running 14 seconds and billowing smoke to get there.

x10 on this. Very cool start to drag racing a diesel!

Trans will not lock in first unless it has a valvebody designed to do so. Second should be good for what you're doing, you just need more power. What does it weigh?

Truck weighs 4800 lbs with me in it. It picked up 1000 lbs from a 440 , 727 setup that was previously in it. I was thinking it needs more fuel. I don't know if it is just the program or if I don't have enough volume to the injection pump. I took the pump tamp wire off at the track and double checked to make sure it was making contact with the wire. It looked good. It just has that little point that sticks the wire.

At that weight, something's up....I've seen a couple hot stock VP44's with tunes pull off 350rwhp or more (on dynos I would trust), and the compD horsepower calculator says you're at about 270rwhp based on trap speed. I've also seen a lot of VP44's smoke a whole bunch and not put down power.

A lot of the big horsepower guys run no boxes at all, or just run a little timing, and then run huge injectors, hot rod pumps, and big turbos. Basically turn it into a mechanical truck. Side effect is that it smokes a lot then.

What's your goal for the build if I may ask?

Amen to that. Seems to me all he has to do is tweak his setup a bit.

The Dodge guys here will definitely be able to help you figure it out.

Not sure on any goals at this point. I have a 66 charger street strip car that I normally race and just figured I would get something going with the old orange truck. It has been sitting in the field for 5 years since I stripped it down and built the car. The car now has a 500 inch big block and runs 10.50's 10.60's, leaf spring drag radial car. I'm going for budget power for now on the truck. I know I cant add a bunch of power with out doing the tranny. The auto shift really sucks. It needs for sure a converter, manual valve body and a good rebuild to start. I just left it in drive and shift on the limiter last weekend.

My goals would be back halfed truck with full tubs, bullet proof 47re trans with brake, 800 h.p. probly not in my budget though. But would be cool.

Awesome build! I wish my reg cab short bed weighed in the same as yours. Mine is 1000 lbs heavier than yours with me in it. I don't think yours is fueling as hard as it could. I had a 2001 4x4 extended cab 2500 that went 14.2 with the same setup that you have plus a 40 hp injector and that weighed almost 7000 lbs.

Best E.T. not my best 60'

Any idea why my photos come up like this?

personally the times seem right based on the mods. I do realize the truck is lighter than most but the power seems right.

have to delete the url on the photobucket img link

The truck feels pretty slow compared to the car. But I do have to say I had a lot of fun racing it last weekend. Maybe if I can get the slips from the truck to look more like the car that would be cool.

Can you tell a difference in any of the Edge settings?

Check all of your wiring, something isn't right. Not sure if wiring is bad, bad pump tap. bad unit?

BTW Welcome
