Issue with my 6.0... already!

how do you do that test? also, at idle what should voltage be going to the MAF sensor? im about to go pull the EBP sensor and take a look at it also.

Dont worry about the maf. Its used for EGR purposes. Since you have an 04 with potential for wire chafes. Go find the EBP and check the wires. If the turbo is being told to close down from an incorrect signal, it will blow the EGR valve open and tell you the flow through the maf is not correct.

ok gotcha.. im waiting for it to quit raining and ill get back out there and check those things

thanks man! i think im getting closer to figuring it out with everybodys help!

ok i think i may have found the problem.. i pulled the EBP sensor and cleaned it. the truck seemed to run way better! so i went and ordered a new one to try out. i also pulled the tube and cleaned it as well. it was kinda gunked up. so i guess ill see what happens wednesday when the new sensor comes in..

are you any good with the electronics in these trucks? ive got an issue with the dimmer switch i cant figure out.. the dashlights are set at one brightness and i cant figure out why it wont dim or get brighter.. it has a brand new switch in it too..

well.... still runs bad. i dont know what to try now... got the new sensor in and it doesnt run any better at all. do the codes need to be cleared on these things after a new sensor is installed??

well, im in the process of pulling the turbo. go figure it starts pouring right in the middle of it!

alright, got the turbo pulled off and cleaned the vanes. they were sticking a little, so i guess it was a good idea to do it anyway... slapped it back on and drove it around the block a few times. it runs great now! just need to replace the gasket on the oil feed line.... one thing im kinda curious about now, the tranny shifts kinda hard. could it be that its "relearning" or should i drive it for awhile and see what happens?

ok that makes me feel better! lol.. oh and i did find that the boost hose on the passenger side that bolts to the intercooler had popped off the pipe a little, so ive got a small boost leak..

Oh yeah, I am going to get it back together after work, just didn't feel like messing with it last night.. But I will say that particular hose is a pain to get to stay on!

CCV mod? what exactly is that? and yeah i would like to get rid of some of the dern oil around those spots

well finally got the nerve up to drive the truck farther than 2 blocks from the house.. didnt feel like walking too far lol! at first it ran ok, but not near what it should. no power, horrible shifting. drove about 20 miles or so, and it started to run good, and shift right, so i was all excited! well it wasnt lighting the turbo quite as fast as it used to, so i was listening as best i could (Mickey Thompsons arent the quitest of tires!) and there it was, boost leak! so opened the hood, and soot is all over the motor! waited till the next day, and took another look, found that the uppipe, and turbo flanges werent mounted right and were letting soot get out, along with much needed pressure. so thats where im at with it now, i will ask yall this tho, how in the world do you get the damm flanges to line up right??? i fought that thing all afternoon yesterday and still couldnt get it in there right! but other than that, i want to thank everybody for their help with getting this thing back on the road! :Cheer:
