Melting_pistons build thread

The new valve cover came in from the guys at Kingspeed for the regular cab build. Figured I’d share it here as well just because I like how it turned out lol

So I pulled the truck out of the shop while doing some cutting and welding on the reg cab... when I start it the truck idles really low for about 30 seconds. (Around 500 rpm) then jumps up to 800 where it belongs.

My insight is messed up so I don’t have a rail pressure gauge at the moment. So I got a log of it and sent it in to Ryan. He asked if I was starting the truck without the lift pump, because it’s taking it a bit to come up to desired rail pressure before it jumps to the correct rpm.

I’m going to check torque on the feed tubes and put a gauge on my lift pump to make sure it’s putting out like it should. Any other ideas of what to check?

Went to the track the other night (it’s only a mile from the house) and decided to drive the truck down there, just because I haven’t really driven it in a year...good thing I wasn’t actually racing. Trans line decided to let loose on the way home. Kevin at FSD got me a new set rushed out. Kinda ironic, because we were just talking about how they needed to be replaced.

Haha thanks man. Filters make a world of difference...they are far from perfect lol
And which valve cover are you referring to? The Maryland one?

A nice billet cover makes a world of difference under the hood for sure!

Got the old pan off, didn’t see too much trash or anything in it. Hopefully it’s all ok. Got the new kingspeed pan on, and the loganbuilt linkage bracket. Gotta get the linkage adjusted and finish running lines and I’ll be ready to test it out. If you’re running FMVB, his bracket is the way to go. No more adjusting it every time you have to drop the pan

Pic and source of the bracket?

I have an idea of the bracket that you're talking about, and thought about making one myself. But, if I can buy one and save myself the time, I will pull the trigger immediately!
