my latest motor build with pictures..

thanks Ron.. its cummins marine tan.. im thinking its going black before it goes in the truck tomorrow after a bit of masking off..

Looks good, but why not spend $100 more are replace the 'soon to be leaking' stock tappet cover?

i have never had a problem with them leaking, i think i vent enough of the crank case pressure to not have that problem with two valve cover vents, and the tappet cover vent and i used to have a filter on the front filler and may weld a "filler" on this weekend as i do plan on changing to a keating valve cover soon, but ill prolly weld some vents on that too.. i dont like crank case pressure..
besides the cheapest tappet covers i have found were 200..

well if you want them let me know im getting a keating cover soon..
i have 625's at 150 ft/lbs and thats where it was deck plate bored to..
trying to do everything right as i can afford.. always wish we could do more.. i would like to have started with a cr block.. i dont want to think about next time but maybe next motor i build... LOL

Why would you have rather done a cr block?

Looking great adam. are you going to have all of the crank case breathers go to a central breather or keep the separate of each other?

the cr blocks are stronger im fairly certain..
ill run all the vents seperate, just the way ive always done it..
well made some more progress today, down to running down all the little missing parts now.. its in the truck so hopefully tomorrow it will be running.. some more pictures and some of my brother messing around on the dirt pile after having to pull my truck around he already had it in 4wd so why not right.. LOL

I would also recomend switching out the tappet cover, mine was fine at first but started leaking like a sieve . Eatsoot.com has billet ones with o-ring seal for under $200 shipped.

Just curious why are you using engine coolant for the air to water? I don't think you will see a huge change with it only being able to get the air down to 230 ish.

Very interested to know of anyone's experience with this cover? The price is excellent and the idea of no more leaking ass factory covers very appealing! Any comment on height i.e. will there be issues clearing A1 studs?

Cummins block stiffener? Is that a girdle? And is a Cummins part number or aftermarket? Looks good.
Thanks,
Jay

Wild diesel has bad ass billet tappet covers too. For $199. That's what we run on our trucks. No o-rings but they have a small groove machined in them to hold the silicone.

New engine looks good Adam.
