Thanks andy, i appreciate that...... I dont think ive ever seen your truck as clean as it was yesterday... And one day im gonna get you to run that truck... Just once....
Yep,she was smooth and really looked good yesterday, probably the best it has in a few years.Rob finally remembered to get me some of that detail spray I liked so much he gave me at last years truck show and that stuff is the deal. The second coat on the truck today at Cecil County really had it glistening in the bright sunshine.
I actually had plans to run the truck at Numidia but after checking on the needed safety equipment I found out I needed more than I had.Soon you may just get your wish.If I can just figure out how to keep it nice and clean doing that,LOL.
The thing I don't like of the ssr is I can't see what those numbers are changing. It's hard to keep the smoke down with the ssr. I dd on the same tune I dynoed with. Since then I threw more timing and duration at it. I backed Llr and hlr down to 1. My rail is spiking at 27k under wot. I think my prv is leaking during this causing my wts light. I may end up buying a tune from gecovey.
I disagree with the not being able to keep the smoke down with SSR.Its all in the tuning and a little time strapped down to a jet somewhere quiet and you can find a happy medium, its there all it takes is work.I am going to tell you again, research Paulb's and DVSt8r's last SSR setting in the SSR thread,I am certain they will get you close and you may be suprised as well. The last SSR runs on my truck were made with Paul's setting from one of his track runs and the truck went well into the 900's with it and was very driveable. My UDC tune for my truck just flat out works, however,I gave up as I wanted more control with the EFI and moved away from it.I will also say this, buying a tune is a option you have however when you do that you also do not see what changes are being made as no one sells a unlocked tune and you will not know what has been done or changed. My one fear of buying a tune from another tuner is the possibility they do not give you the whole enchilada and short you on power. Some will tell you it doesn't happen and all tunes get done to the capabilities of the customers truck and I will call BS on that.
Keep tuning, you will get where you want.It will not happen overnight and there will be bumps along the way but once you reach your goal there is no better feeling for the minute. That is until you realize that you want MORE,then welcome to the "Cubic Money" zone.Thats the area where you have spent xxxx amount of cash to get to one plateau and it seemed relatively easy, but, that last little bit of power you want costs you almost 4x's what you have already spent...."Cubic Money".........Andy
P.S.-I had my camera, but, spent most of the day detailing and chatting with the many who stopped to chat about the truck.I didn't even get a single picture of my truck, let alone anyone elses,LOL.I do have videos of my truck on the jet and will load them and put a link up if you want.
