Would one out of a cr 4x4 bolt up. If so do i need input shaft? Anybody dont this what all is involved with the swap!

I freakin hate the gap between 3rd and 4th. Im in the process of a clutch anyways. I think i can get my hands on on pretty cheap!

The 5600 is the same regardless of year, there were a few made with smaller input shafts but only in 00 IIRC. My former spare 5600 is residing in a 3rd gen pulling truck right now. You will need the rear mount for a 5600 truck though as well as having the driveshaft lengths changed. The 6spd is considerably larger than the 5spd in all dimensions.
