Mr. Whipple
"superchargers take a lot of hp to turn" Maybe some do? :hehe:

You figured out the issue of the blower bypass being a choke point once the turbo lights? Im guessing a larger bypass or a second remote one with a second filter?
I have both, and they are not set up like any other vehicle on the street. The SC freewheels once the turbos light.
Spin that supercharger to 10,000 rpm then come back and tell me it doesn't take power to turn.
since I also have turbos, this almost never happensThe power to turn the supercharger is not spent on the mechanical parts of actually spinning it.
correct
The power spent, that everyone talks about, it spent compressing the air at high RPM when the relief isn't open at all.
Many others have been setup like that for years.
not likely
, ask Topfuel guys how much it takes under boost.
A 14-71 on a top fuel engine takes around 600hp to drive at full tilt, pretty freaking crazy.
Unrelated, But Carl, is the blower over twins setup the best out of all the turbo setups you have tried? I know you have done nearly every air setup that can be done...
Does anyone make a clutch setup for these supers anymore? The only advantage I can see (since the bypass means theres no drag when the turbos kick in) being the ability to turn off the spaceship sound at will
:lolly:
not yet...
oh yeah.. does your twins over super setup fit completely under the hood w/o the scoop?
