Truckers, lets see your rigs!

I think that stage 1 borg. We'll see how fast I can get one, need the truck and it ran ok with a stock turbo.

If you don't want to upgrade to that turbo about the best direct replacement turbo I can think of is the 177148, might be a little cheaper. Has a 1.32 internally gated housing, smaller 92mm turbine, and 75mm inducer.

The one above has a 96mm turbine, 78mm inducer, and a non gated 1.32.

Emission hole, you oughta look at junk engines, quite a few old horses with holes knocked in the block.

I think it's either that or they have to be sold for export only, like they are trying to regulate what trucks can be ran in other states. There are a couple of 362 pete cabovers on truckpaper that have C12s in them that would be awesome to drop a C15 in, says they are running but can only be sold as exports.

So I visited our company bone yard today on the hunt for an injection pump for an NTC290, I found a few things my fellow truck junkies might like. I found a couple A model shorty hoods, then one with a narrower hood, what model is that one?

Normal A model hood

Has these interesting chrome pieces on the engine

And the one I've heard much about but never seen, a 1948 KW......what's left of one anyway

Don't see much of the factory chrome pieces. I know some of the 444s had them and the Canadian 25th anniversary kenworths.

Yep, very similar. I haven't heard of them doing this often. This turbo is still tight, it had a couple light witness marks a couple months ago but you couldn't get it to touch by hand.

Was $1200 for a reman? Our dealer wanted $2300 for a replacement.

I was thinking it was 2300$ without core. 1200$ with. But you might be right. Maybe it was 3200$. I charged it so it didn't matter to me but it came in an actual cat box. This one was still working too just the inlet broke loose. That's a junk design there.

I'm not sure what year that one is, they're pretty neat pieces though

Easy! I actually like my N14s. Of course I am used to ISMs and M11s LOL

Even the Spencer boys like N14s and they're hard core KW/cat! I like N14s as well, long as they're leaking oil, they have oil in them. I had one come in with a rod split like a wishbone, still ran, drove in actually!

Local parts guy had a 175963 on the shelf.

When did the state of California start using capitol punishment on Peterbilt's?
http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=6024049

They do that all the time and your tax dollars pay for it. CA was offering huge checks to companies to trade in pre-emissions heavy equipment for new. They would take a sledge hammer to the side of the block and sell them for scrap.

The funny part is Diesel Cast Welding in Oregon was buying them and fixing the holes and selling them for a nice profit. :hehe:

Then it really isn't a 175963, as that turbo is a C16 replacement that comes with a 1.65 gated housing.

From what I understood it was the c-16 turbo with an un gated housing swapped on.

I've developed this serious need to own an old truck with an iron lung... Call me weird...
