Truckers, lets see your rigs!

I don't know about that thing. Lots of potential there but not a fan. Hideous paint, WAY too many "load lights" and I can't stand the double hump fenders. I just don't get why people like those things.
That being said, I'm a firm believer in do what YOU like when it comes to YOUR truck and the hell with everybody else. Whoever owns that thing has got a bunch of money tied up in it and if the dude is happy with it, then truck on driver!

Ya I dont like that style of fender either. Theres couple different styles I think it would look better with but thats just me. But like stated, do what you like to your truck and who cares what other people think. Seeing the amount of money put into it, im sure dude is happy with it.

I was always partial to go this L.

Another L with a Jones A model hood.....

If some double humps are done right, I like them but it's a give and take situation sometimes.

Opinion time:
What do you guys think this FLC is worth? I'm assuming it's an '84 because the date tag on the motor is 5-84. Mileage: 547,xxx. NTC-400 with a spraybomb makeover, 13 speed. Paint on the hood doesn't match the the cab

As with everything used beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's worth what the market will bear. Its cool looking truck, and if you want it buy it but look it over see what it's going to take you make it yours and put that in the equation.

A couple things I'd ask my self:

1. What are my intentions to do with the truck?

2. Why is the engine freshly painted? Is someone trying to hide something?

3. What suspension?

4. Is that the original trans and engine? My FLC has a 15 speed and every other one I have looked at also has a 15 speed. The truck is newer than 84, 85 was the first year of the square headlights.

5. What is the interior like?

Overall it looks to be a good truck. These FLCs are few and far between these days. They are, in my opinion, good trucks. I wouldn't be afraid to spend $10,000 on this truck, provided condition of the brakes and the answers to the above questions.

Just to give you an idea, I paid $8,000 for my FLC. Put a radiator in it, new (used) exhaust manifold and changed the oil and it's ready to go to work and be reliable.

The only thing the truck does not have that I would like would be a wet kit.

1) Intentions are to pull a 42' lowboy, tilt deck equipment trailer, and a 35' silage semi in the case of another truck breaking down.

2) Exactly my curiosity. Haven't called seller yet, wondering if they're trying to claim it has a fresh motor
3) air suspension

4) might be a 15? Regular splitter and red thumb splitter. Only other FLC I've driven is a straight 7 former CF truck.

Hood is off a different truck judging by the paint

5) interior is clean and basic freightliner

I was thinking around $8-10k. They're asking 13.5k, but I don't think it's worth it and I doubt they'd get that much. I'm an FLC fan and that is the best one I've seen around here. Pete is the desired truck in the area, not a lot of Freightliner fans.

IMHO, aside from the paint it is a good looking truck that looks to be in good shape. Without seeing the big things, radiator, engine, and trans, I'd say it's worth $10,000 all day. If I were to sell my FLC, I'd ask $15,000, but it has a 3406 (not that that makes it worth another $5,000). There's just not many of these trucks around any more.

What I can tell you is that that pancake bag suspension does ride a little rough.

On a side note, I have a PTO and a pump if you're interested.

That red button on the side of the shifter looks just like mine, which is for deep reduction in my 15. Although the button mine is blue, not sure if the color of the button makes a difference.

I really like it!
Isn't that 625 cpl a sought after cpl?

It's about the last of the BC3s that made it into trucks, not anything special about it just a good solid engine.

I spied a K1 flat roof on my way to ND today, might swing by on the way home and see what the price tag is on it, she's got weeds growing all up around it so I know its been sitting awhile
