Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Holy chit. I guess weight isn't a priority of yours? I've seen guys spend thousands to save a 50 pounds here and there. I bet it does sound great, though.

I can see why guys down there trying to save weight. A guy come to haul some old dozers down south from here and he couldn't get legal because the truck was to heavy. But we don't own really any tandem trailers. We have all triaxle and can load fairly decent on the trailer without overloading the truck.

Just some trucker related pictures I thought were neat/funny.

So I replaced one of the bunk windows today and noticed some blue paint behind the rubber. And it looks like the same metallic blue my other w9 has. So I look at the paint code tag under the dash and sure enough it's the exact same colour from factory.

I have been trying to get into starting a trucking business for about 4 years now, and finally was able to buy my first truck towards the middle of last year.

I have just been going through and fixing it up. Did an inframe with new head, and a lot of cleaning so far. I bought the truck for $5000. 97 379 short hood Pete with 3406e and super 10spd.

The day I bought it.

Still have a ton of work to do, but one day I hope to get it out on the roads with a driver to make some extra income.

She has come a long way for sure! It's amazing how much the new pipes change the look of the truck. What will she be hauling?

Man, I honestly dont know yet. I originally wanted to just run a belly dump, but the the trailers are kind of expensive, so I thought about maybe a step deck or flat bed, but then you are gonna have long hauls all the time. I am in South Texas so the Oil Field is about to pick back up again, and I am considering something hauling frac sand which pays great when oil is up high but its hard to find/keep a driver that will work for weeks straight.

Either way I have to get the truck 100% and then save up before I buy a trailer. I want everything paid for when I start running.
