The only thing that has me stumped is your charger...I would never have guess it to do what you've found...
Our FL80 weighs about 13500 lbs without weight, we have about 6K we can strap to it for puling the heavy stuff. We want to go a little longer so we can put a headache rack and vertical exhaust and still have room to swing the crane, so we'll probably end up around 15K if we stay MD. So yes, the weight is helpful...we also have to have the wet line for the crane, but I already have all that.
Your setup is actually about right, and I understand your choices, especially for the cost of your setup...but this will be the last one we hopefully buy for a LONG time and I don't want to keep fighting the same problems we do now. ZERO drivetrain issues on the FL80, but every time we go to use it we have something else broke in the cab, or something new not working.
Absolutely glad your setup is working like you wanted, if this was 2009 I would jump all over a setup like that...but I've owned 2 Freightliner's since approximately 2006, one we bought brand new, and I'm just tired of the issues.
Hopefully you get your turbo slowed down a bit and are really happy!
