Forgot how big the V2 cover really was....

I've always wanted to do this but just a very small on that dumps into a air box that would mate to the underside of the hood with rubber seals when closed. Just something that would shove cooler air from outside directly into the box without having to be preheated around the motor. Probably something that would gain zero power so it's never got done.

The ram air style hoods on the Vipers(srt10), Demon, Redeye, definitely serve their purpose. The Hellcat I have has a funnel on the nose that feeds atmosphere directly into the airbox. Same concept as the ram air hood.

Having drove it around some today after making final adjustments and adding the latch bumpstop/ insulator this hood actually makes less (howl/ whistle) than the oem srt10 hood I used to run.

I like it. Wish it was a little bit more low profile (like the new Dodge Durango), but the body lines look right, and it's not too crazy.

Did you say you're going to paint it before the wrap, or just wrap it over the primer?

Just primed for now with wrap. Then if I have a change of heart and want to paint it's just ready to rock.

And thats a "wrap" folks! Hood is completed. Grill bezel is qrapped the same color, just hard to see in pic.

I would have made it a little mor low profile on the opening and used the original rounded edges of the hood and transitioned into the opening so it didnt look like a hood on a hood. Not my cup of tea though. I will be building my own cowl hood as i dont really like any of the aftermarket hoods

When I think low pro I think this and I would rather run no hood if that's the case...

RD, preach to this muthafukka ^^^^^^^^^ about how little I care what his dumb a$$ assumptions are.

LOL

Get the phuck out of here negro with that dumb $hit.

The idea was done and executed as planned. As matter of fact he's already taken deposit on 6 more hoods exactly like it..... at $1750 each. The Mopar 3rd gen enthusiasts were blowing him up when the owner of the Demon shared a photo.

And it's an actual functioning cowl lol.

That leading edge just to the left of center has a dip in it. Very evident in ^^^ that picture. It was noticeable in the night pic but you can definitely see it in the latest one.

Otherwise, I don’t mind it. How’s visibility out of it?

Yeah y'all were you're spot on! The metal there is so think I'm thinking when the wrap was being laid it flexed a bit since when you run your hand across it's smooth on both faces. Its super faint and not really noticable unless there's a glare on the wrap, annoying yes but it doesn't bother me enough to phuck with.

Which speaking of the textured wrap material is VERY surface finish sensative. Borderline annoying because certain glares remind me that its Dodge paint still underneath LOL.

Visibility wise just reminds me of looking over the hood of a commercial truck... with a cowl lol. I'll get a pic tomorrow.

Lmfaoooooooooooooo........ @1750 for an ill fitting warped hood.

Textured wrap with an overlapped seam down the center.

Is it too late to bring back the bay window hood?

 you are on your own..... LOL

I'll fitting warped hood? Please explain?

Nice try also! Nothing's over lapped, it's a diectional material and the material wasn't long enough to run the full hood width with a single sheet. 80" comes to mind with the length he said and the rolls are only 60" tall.

You know I handle my own juuuust fine!

Ive been around my share of wrapped vehicles and dont ever remember seeing any of them having a seam like that.

I wouldn’t disagree. Doubt any of them were this material though.

It’s 3m BR212. It’s a difficult material to lay and ridiculously priced.

This guy specializes in exotics and full commercial graphic wraps and is one of the best in Houston so I can’t argue with what he does since I don’t know anything about wrapping a vehicle. He warranty’s his work so if I end up having an issue I’ll go back. Especially since this specific wrap installed cost over $5k.

Had him also do some customs pin stripes and couple other things on my Hellcat and the difference in regular vinyl wrap to textured is night and day.

Nothings overlapped? *bdh* Can damned clearly see the seam and its overlap? :what:

Just like you can clearly see the wonky flaw which throws off the textured wrap. LOLLOL

When I think overlap I'm thinking visibility of a material below. That's not present, and the seam is just that.... a smooth flush seam.

Looks like the passenger's side half of hood was wrapped first, then drivers side, look at overlapped seam in your pictures. . . :blahblah1:
