12v hp #'s

Not to start a pissing match, but the number's dont sound right at all, your torque should be up 400-500lbs, most 12v's are making that much torque with mid 500 hp's.

It is a big single charger truck, when you don't make power till 3000rpm you won't have very big torque numbers. If it was twin turbo'd you could make power a lot sooner and pick up that torque number a lot. 12v's don't make 1500ft-lbs on a single.

I love big dyno numbers, i admire those who put in the work it takes to get those numbers. dont get me wrong on this, i love the p-pump,played with a couple p-pump set ups. I like torque, torque pulls my snowobiles up the mountian. a truck that doesnt make power under 3000 rpm wont cut it. 1st gen,ve pumped truck, set up right makes alot torque down low due to pumps built in timing advance. Ive been on 2 dynos, 1 had me at 1000 ft lbs torque, the other 800. at 1950 rpm. smoked my 1st 2 clutches. for usable torque maybe you p-pumpers should convert to a1st gen ve!

hey are you in Logan? I saw a awesome looking older cc ford with cummins badges on it on campus last friday! that yours by chance?

mines red, body is mint. i hear theres a white one around also. are you going to school here? anyway after thinking about it, the vp pumped trucks seem to have even narrower torque curve. imagine driving a 24v vp with 3:07 gears and a 3spd automatic like the 89-91 1st gen autos ran? of course im half joking about converting a p-pump to a ve, but not a vp!

ok guy lets hear how much power your 12v has and what you have done to it.

I made 357/755 with: bd-11 plate, HTT htbg-57, 330 horse injectors, & water/meth

I now have: 4k GSK, 0 Plate, SPS 66, II Dragon Flows, more water/meth. I will post up after i take it to the dyno...

470 - 1017 with the setup in my sig on a no load dyno. Going to see what a load dyno makes this weeknd.

He's a puller. His usable torque is at 3k+

How many pullers you see running VE pumps:poke:

my point exactly.I,m all for purpose built trucks, pullers, drag, tow, whatever. I rarely see over 3000 rpm,low rpm torque is were the ve shines, very broad powerband.

I had another two good nights of tuning, and I'm still trying to figure out how these numbers are even possible. The best two runs were 711/1404 and 713/139?. 10 runs between 690-713, I didn't see over 1400* on any run. Can't wait to get back to the track.

I've never tried to measure it so I'm not really sure.

Thank's, if I can get a front axle shaft in a hurry I want to run this wed night.

sweet. how is your afc setup? mine setup for full rack travel, but i also have a 180 pump with stock 181's, a mack rack plug, 0 plate full forward, starwheel with a little tension on the spring. foot ground flat, washers on the back of the afc housing flipped around, and with 18* a 4kgsk set at 4clicks and Ii dragon flows i did 458/1075 but thats all on a stock turbo/housing, w/g blocked off. and that should be 21mm of rack travel. never measured. but the fuel never cleans up, i want to spray it once i upgrade the turbo and see what all this extra fuel will do for me. but with my good luck right after the transfercase gets rebuilt the rear end needs to be rebuilt. so things are taking a little longer.

Brett, do you have a plate in the 215 pump? Wow, it seems like timing is where it's at!

How heavy is this truck? Just trying to see if your dyno numbers match your track times.

Thanks for sharing your efforts, much appreciated!!!:Cheer:

Also Brett, went back through some of your previous posts. What have you changed since the 111.x mph track run? Thanks man!
