Summer purchases

Yep that, among many other reasons is why I am trying to get out of this terrible liberal POS state...I hate it here

You seem to be on the right track. I have DJ's system in my truck and it works great. The Ranger Will have a FASS system. None of the companies you have mentioned are anything but great, so you really cannot go wrong. As for gauges, I have been using DI Pricols. Yes they are the sponosr for the Race truck, but I had them 4 years prior to that, and have had nothing but good things to say about them. They also match the dash 100%

I am going to go with ITPs kit bc it has the crossover...and FASS bc it has the fuel heater. Since I will have to disconnect the intercooler tubing to do the RR fuel kit, I mind as well just throw in the new one at the same time right :evil - I think I'll go for supporting Hellmann - like to help out the smaller guy + they seem like they build a really nice product...just need to get some pricing from them. Thanks for the input guys

Sounds like you will be pleased with your purchases. I am still not convinced that the rear x-over line is necessary though.

may not be neccessary - but it doesn't hurt to have it right??? Plus I like how the kit includes the gauge...

I have not dealt with Dennis - but he seems like a good guy from what other people say.

I would love to keep giving Viv and DJ the business as they have treated me great...but when it comes to my truck I want only the best of the best.

to that I say..better to have it and not need it..then to need it an not have it.

what are you doing on the Ranger? you said ITP so..you will being doing the crossover, right?

Okay guys... I am really have trouble deciding between the FASS and the AirDog. I'm not looking for a chit battle on this topic...I just simply want to know if the FASS is really worth spending the extra 300 on...but if you guys really think it is worth the investment let me know.

I currently have a FASS..we have several of them installed on 6.0's and 7.3's.

with that said..I don't know if I would buy the FASS again..I haven't had too many problems with mine. It has blown a fuse for no particular reason and had some metal shavings in the pump that locked it up when we bought it..other then that it has been fine..but others..have not had such good luck.

It would take some consideration before I decided.

Hi Rob,

Thank you and we are still friends :Cheer: but there is a misconception about the crossover line and how and if it actually works.

We had the opportunity to dyno two stock trucks in Baton Rouge. The truck with our FUEL+ dynoed 446hp and the truck with a fuel system with a crossover line dynoed less than what he had dynoed one year earlier, at the same dyno, with a weaker file, without the system. I am not mentioning the system or vendor here because I am not here to attack anyone or their product but when you are looking for the best, you need to consider what gives the best results

Thanks,
Vivian

so you are saying you dynoed two EXACT same trucks...same tire same wheels same wheel base same cab configuration same mods same exact tune only difference was the crossover line and the truck with the crossover line made less HP..:umno:

I'd like to hear more about this - Vivian wouldn't lie. But as we all know there could be a million different reasons that lead to the guy making less #s with more modifications from a year earlier...a lot can happen to a truck in a year to decrease its performance...transmission...hell even a reflash based off what I have been reading in the FICM programming threads...

my point exactly.

We went to Baton Rouge to tune trucks. We did not ask the customers what they would be bringing or setup some kind of contest. It just so happened all the trucks were stock with the exception of two that had fuel systems installed. One is Shaun (HDF250) with our FUEL+ and one is a guy named Nick, with a crossover fuel system, who I don't know if he is a member here.

I don't remember what Nick's hp was but I wasn't comparing it to Shaun's at all, since Shaun made over 30hp more than Nick. I made reference to what Nick said he did one year earlier with a tune that he did not think was half of the one he had now and according to him, the only difference was the system. He was as surprised as we were and we were not present when he dynoed the first time. I'm going to send him an email and ask him to chime in.

There could be many reasons for the discrepancy cause we think of the dyno as a tuning tool and to measure modifications but in this case, it is measuring a modification. Still dynoes have been known to be inaccurate.

Thanks,
Vivian

I just realized we still don't have an updated picture of our fuel system on our site. I apologize for that but it's so hard to keep up with everything and some priorities have to suffer.

I have a picture that shows what our system includes and it does bring a gauge. I'm not sure where it's at but I'm going to look for it and post.

Thanks,
Vivian

Hi Mike,

Yes, Frankie has our system installed.

I couldn't find the pictures. I guess I lost a lot more than I thought when I deleted my email and locked myself out of Quickbooks, beginning of the year *bdh* I gotta stop being so trigger happy :poke:

I know I posted them in another forum a while back. I will look for them. I would like to save them again to my computer too! Else we'll take them again and ask Chris to place on our site.

Thanks,
Vivian

Vivan, 30 hp can be from a dirty air filter, Tire pressure and maybe a few other things. I agree with Adam. To accurately state it doesnt make a difference you need the exact truck, mileage and weather conditions.

I believe the x-over line is necessary. I used to run DJ kit and since then reworked their system with a few upgrades including a xover line. It seems every one except a few believe in the x-over line.

My Dj( which was a earlier one) did not come with a fuel gauge and had a cheaper regulator then ITP. The regulator they gave me lasted 3 months. I think the ones I ordered from DJ's a month ago for a customer came with a fuel guage and a nice AREOAUTOMOTIVE regulator. We added a x-over line to complete the kit.

Good Morning,

I hope everyone is on their way to a beautiful Wednesday!

Hey Rob,

I'm curious to know why you believe the crossover line completes the system? Why is it necessary? What is the crossover intended to accomplish?

I'm not picking on you. You know we're friends. :Cheer: Not only you, anyone who can give some input about what moving the fuel from one side to the other is intended to do and how you know it gives the best benefit. Who can attest to it with examples?

Thanks,
Vivian

ok..I cannot say that is necessary( I wouldn't do it any other way)..but can you tell me a few reason why it NOT needed?
