Just out of curiosity, what block did you use? The old IDI platform or the DI?
Why would you use an idi block?

There's differences between the two like crank, rods etc. Didn't know if they could make more use out of the older block. That's why I was curious. .
Yeah bore spacing is differnt. Hypermax made around 1300 out of a IDi back in like 92 and ran 9s with it but the block wouldn't last but 2-3 passes before it would flex to much and blow out freeze plugs.

Where do projects like that go? I have heard of Detroit engines being races also. Wish I could see that stuff
Most of em are just sitting....John Carey's Detroit Diesel dragster went low 7s with an 1800hp nitrous motor and B&J trans like 25 years ago, and it's still sitting in the rafters of his shop.
Anyways, back to the Mustang, that thing looks AWESOME! If the performance of the truck is any indication of how this one will run, it should fly. I always liked Ben Miller's old motor, so it's cool to see another P-pumped 7.3L out there, and the CGI block should handle some serious Wheaties.
