Track tonight

Might as well.

Or...Hang the guy that sold ya the pump!

Right! but It was a while ago and i have no clue what his name is. Just know he is friends of ryan lehan.

But anyway instead of pulling the pump, I racked the barrels so its maxed out. Idle only went up 50 rpm, just a slight rough idle. Anything above idle is perfect! I cant really tell if it made a huge difference cause i blew the t4 gasket out :bang So we shall see what she does tomorrow night at the track. The way it felt in 2nd, I can see 12.5 or lower happening hopefully 12.0:hehe:

I think big blue said he gained 80+hp (with traction issues) by racking his barrels. You should see some improvement :D

I hope so lol Just a little pissed that i was sold a stock pump just about and was told it was maxed... Live and learn i guess, just dont buy stuff used i guess.

So im stumped... best tonight was 13.1 at 100mph. I lost 5 mph from last week. Only turned the barrels...

475cc on your 160hp pump? Time to put that sucker back on, or send your 215hp pump to a shop.

Post your timeslips or atleast the rest of the information from them. It might be able to help in figuring things out.

Simple fact is, there isnt the power there that "should" be.

If i had another injection pump i would throw it on there and see what it does. The 160pump should get you to 11s

Thats the plan... Switch my 160 pump back on, add another in line pusher pump for higher psi, and see where she runs.

Your trap speeds are pretty erratic, especially run #1. Does the turbo bark and surge or get snuffed out on the overdrive shifts every other run?

It almost looks like you might have some tranny slippage problems such as slipping lock-up clutches in the torque converter.

Is your boost falling off the last 300' of the track when your well into overdrive at 90 MPH?

Has anyone watched you run since racking the barrels, is smoke still clearing up 100% or is there some haze now?

If smoke is thick and boost is down, I'd guess either a boost leak or a slipping tranny. If smoke is clear and boost is down, I'd guess a fuel problem such as lift pump feed pressure or possibly something hanging up the rack and not letting it go full travel.

the turbo does surge going into od... Not as bad but it does. Boost only drops from 48 to about 44-45 when it does surge. As far as smoke, it does not clean up now. Just a pretty good haze! Egt is 1700 at the end. It doesnt feel like the trans is slipping but it could be. When it locks up, it locks hard.

Kinda weird that i lost 4-5mph with just racking the barrels tho... Possible that the rack is not getting full travel, or stuck i guess. Im about done with messing with this pump. You think i should throw my 160 pump back on?

Alright so i just got the truck weighed finally, 6200 with me, a half tank, toolbox full of sh!t, cab full or toys, so with some cleaning out I could be under 6000 easy i bet. That said it only comes to about 470 rear wheel hp... I cant seem to break the 500 mark on this truck..

I've been following the thread but assumed that it was slow because of the weight. But 6200lbs, that's my weight, it should fly, high 11s should be well within range. The 160hp pump will not hold you back. I'm only running an unbenched 160hp, and it still hazes all the way down the track @ 40-45psi of fuel pressure. Once I get the cage in and hit it with more air, I'm sure that I can do 10s with it. And my motor is nothing special, still running stock cam and etc.

Based on your 60' times, you should be a lot faster. The 1/8 and 1/4 times are both slow, so it's an issue all the way down the track, not just your top end. It sure seems like you have a leak or air flow issue somewhere. Have you pressure tested your system? What's your drive pressure?

Yeah I have pressure tested it but im going to do it again, possibly vband off the turbo. As for drive pressure i have no clue
