Got a Rocken Tech 14mm on the way.

I hope this is the last of my broken bones. Three is enough. I just wanna get my truck done. Haha

Got my 14mm on and 47rh in. I got the OD and lockup wired up today and took it for a drive, before I go on with that though, I've been driving this thing around for about a week and it has done great. It's got about 150 miles on everything so far. But back to my story, I took it for a test drive after I got my lockup and OD wired up and it didn't seem like my lockup was working so I pulled over in a wide spot and fiddled with it for a few minutes. I kept flipping it on and off and finally left it in in the on position for a few seconds and it killed the engine. Lol So that was working. Then I romped on it through all the gears then flipped my OD on and figured out it was working. Well...I got on it again and then slowed down and stopped and it was missing at idle, so I was just concerned about getting home so I gave it some fuel and it cleared right up and hasn't done it since so I'm not gonna worry about it anymore until it does it again or quits running. Haha I feel like I'm driving a ticking time bomb, I'll feel a lot better after I've driven it for a while longer. Everything is going pretty good, I made around 60lbs of boost this evening, I didn't really pay attention to EGT's, I'll get those another time. It's fueling hard guys, hard as hell.

It's lasted more than four days so far and hasn't eaten itself from the inside yet. Woo.

Nice was it pretty easy to put the head on did u notice a big difference in power and smoke

The guy that has built our hot rod 12mm pumps for a while just put the head on for me. And yes, there is a big difference in power, and smoke. Lol They bench tested it and it put out double the fuel that it did before as a hotrodded 12mm.

I put my Lincoln locked center section back in this evening and then went and did a burnout and when it shifted into third gear it started missing again. I'm afraid I am draining the pump and it's sucking air into the injector lines. I am gonna research a little on how to dual feed this thing and might try that. I'm running half inch lines at 30psi, I don't wanna lock this thing up.

Did they tell you how many cc it put out? You have an AirDog 150gph right? It should keep up...fuel pressure gauge will be the only way to tell. Don't lock it up! And also congrats on it lasting this long lol.

He didn't tell me the CC's, the dang guy never does, I always have a hard time getting that out of him. I'll find out though. And I have an AD150 that I know should keep up. I have been letting off quickly when it starts to miss. The fuel pressure gauge stays a constant 30 psi. if it drops at all it's only 1 or 2 psi.

I know it's not of importance but this thing has the weirdest sound when you free rev it. It sounds different than anything I've ever had. Lol

And thanks. I have taken it pretty easy on this thing but I'm still kind of on edge when I drive it.

So it misses before you lift?

Reason I asked:

Long story short......(you may already know this, but some people may not)

Lifting too quickly with a ve pump, big injectors, and lots of boost can kill the engine or make it miss and sputter for a little bit. Not a huge deal if you are going down the road and its a standard as you can roll start it. Not cool at all if you have an auto.

Mine did it with stock, 190s, and ddp3s. It hasn't done it with the 6x16s because I learned to lift slow. Also I notice with the airdogII165 pushing fuel, it doesn't do it if I accidentally lift too fast.
But yes it does suck to have a auto and have it fumble. If I caught it quick enough I would do a quick manual down shift to recuperate the engine, then run it in neutral at 1500rpm.
I did it so much I actually had a system down. Scary!:nail:

I've not done it with my new pump and Airdog, but with my old pump and low pressure piston lift pump I did it a few times. Never really heard people talk about it much when I started messing with these things, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

That sounds very similar to my situation, once I gave it some fuel it would clear up and run fine.

And no, it starts missing as soon as I lift. Okay, I'll try and do everything smoother and see if it helps.

I saw your other thread about going to Kanawha Valley....I live about 30 minutes from there. :lolly:

Be especially careful if you do a burnout when you go. It would be real easy to kill it lifting too fast after that.
